    New Government & LTA Guidelines – Further Easing of Restrictions Notice

    From today, Monday 17th May, the clubhouse will be accessible, including the use of changing rooms and shower facilities. We still encourage minimal use (recommending you arrived changed and ready to play) and masks must always be worn, unless seated and partaking in refreshments. Up to 6 or 2 households can gather and meet as a group indoors and this increases to 30 outdoors. There are 4 designated seating pods set up in the clubhouse with a maximum of 18 persons +2 staff in the venue at any one time. Changing rooms are to be restricted to no more than 2 at any one time, given the limited space available.

    New Members orientation evening – part 2

    The second of our new member orientation evenings will take place on Friday 28 May from 6.00pm onwards. A great opportunity to meet some of the team as well as existing members and get involved with some tennis. If the weather permits, we’ll stoke up the bbq as the bar will be open, for those wanting to experience the less tennis more social aspects of the club too! If you can’t make it don’t worry as we will send out an update covering the main points raised during the evening.

    The club social slots, team practice and league competitions are now in full swing and well attended.  In addition, there have been a number of thrilling tennis singles matches organised through our new club ladder app which seems a big hit! It’s not to late to join either you can do so below.

    Club League Tennis

    This Friday will be the 3rd week of the new Avon League tennis season. With Men’s & Ladies team practice in full flow on Monday’s from 6pm we encourage anyone wishing to be considered for selection to attend the evening. For those who are at a loose end on Friday’s are welcome to come and support the teams in action on Friday evening from 6.45pm onwards.

    Club championships

    The 2021 Club Championships registration is now open. Men’s & Ladies Open Singles, Doubles, +40s men’s and ladies. Closing date for entries will be Sunday 30th May.     For 2021 our intention, with the help of fundraiser funds will be to invest in a tennis rebound wall to be installed at the club. We feel this addition, with the club’s commitment to resurface all 4 hard courts during this year will certainly add to the value on offer at Bath Tennis Club.     French Open 2021 Sweepstake

    This year we are introducing a new kind of sweepstake that is more fun and engaging, not just picking winners but using your tennis knowledge to maximise your points tally! Instead of bemoaning that your drawn players stand no chance, the destiny will be in your hands. To get involved do look out for the follow up email which will arrive in your inbox in the morning!

    Rubber Ducks River Race (Sunday 4th July, 2.30pm onwards)

    Our first gathering fundraiser for this year will be the Bath Tennis Club Duck race. We hope to race all 1,000 ducks ((£1 per duck) with your help in supporting the event, with a garden party and bbq (£5 individual / £15 family) to add to the day’s entertainment, the venue & ducks being kindly provided by Roger & Janette Stephenson’s open invitation to their home in Pensford. A big advanced thank you to Roger & Janette from the club!

    Cardio Tennis Intro

    Alongside our popular Thursday night 6.30pm cardio tennis (CT) fast paced drills session, our new instructor Joe is running a fun CT session for those wanting to try out cardio tennis or simply prefer a less intense session.
