    Club Update – WC 11/08/2020

    What’s on in August

We hope you had fun getting the most from your tennis club during July. As court demand may increase, with the return of club play and Junior Summer Camps and the Avon Summer League friendlies in the coming weeks, it’s more important than ever to ensure that you should cancel your court booking at the earliest opportunity. Please do be considerate of your fellow users, thank you!

The court buffer system has been removed. Members who have booked courts should arrive to the club no earlier than 10 minutes before their allotted start and extend play to no later than 10 minutes before their allotted finish time. In addition, you will be able to book up to 120minute slots.

Again, we continue to re-iterate at no point should you turn up without a booking!

    Clubhouse Update

The clubhouse is still only partially open and can be used for the purpose of accessing and using the toilets as well as Bar Keyholders being able to purchase and serve beverages and snacks. We have produced a short video to walk you through the guidelines which can be accessed on the club website or by clicking on the following link – https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n7g4cZvrOzmb_Oi6se66GgGFDSigdZVE/view

Finally, do please continue to observe the club court usage guidelines and sanitise on arrival and departure and maintain the social distancing guidelines and help maintain our safe recreational space for all to enjoy, thank you.

     Club Play

Scheduled club play has returned to the club with the schedule available to all members to view online. We expect that those participating will do so following the guidelines as set out by the government and LTA on maintaining safe play and social distancing. The court schedule can be found by clicking the link here – http://www.bathtc.co.uk/timetable/

Summer League Tennis & Club Tournament

Avon County LTA Summer friendly league for mixed doubles, (2 men/ 2 women), has started and members are enjoying the return to competitive play! Please put yourself forward by texting Andrew on 07823 321 993 if you’d like to get involved in playing.

Additionally, the proposed Club Tournament will now start in late August with the sign-up link going live in the club newsletter out this Friday. Again, we will keep you fully informed of all activities as they become available, with clear guidance and in order to ensure commitment to fulfilling match obligations the entry fee will be £10 per individual for each draw. All surplus funds will go towards the clubs fundraising initiatives.
